FROSTBURG, Md. – Against Frostburg State University, the Point Park men's basketball team fell 107-70 in Mountain East Conference action on Saturday afternoon.
Frostburg's offense proved to be too powerful for Point Park as the Bobcats knocked down 17 threes and shot nearly 50 percent to overpower the Pioneers. JayShaun Freeman (28), Koby Baptiste (27), and Chase Whippen (22) combined for 77 of the Bobcats 107 points.
From the floor Point Park was held to 25 field goals as the Pioneers shot 38.5 percent as a team with
Aiden Miller leading Point Park with 15 points on the night. Miller was 6 for 10 from the floor on the night while also contributing with six rebounds.
Nazareth Fisher (10),
Aidan Anderson (14) and
Rob Keys (13) were the other Pioneers to have a double-digit night. Point Park had 31 points off the bench as all the players on the roster scored.
Point Park held a narrow advantage on the glass as the Pioneers pulled down 35 while Frostburg got 34 off the glass. Fisher pulled down eight to lead Point Park.
With the loss Point Park falls to 9-7 overall and 4-6 in MEC play while Frostburg State now sits at .500 as they advance to 8-8 overall on the season and 5-4 in MEC play. Point Park will return back to Pittsburgh to host West Liberty University on Wednesday January 22 with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Point Park fell 88-80 in the last matchup with the Hilltoppers back on November 23
