CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Aidan Anderson and
Rob Keys scored 10 points apiece to lead Point Park in Wednesday's 73-52 setback at the University of Charleston. The Pioneers, who ended 2024 on a four-game winning streak, saw their streak end on Wednesday and fell to 8-5 overall and 3-4 in league play.
In the win, Charleston (7-5, 5-2 MEC) shot 50 percent from the floor and outscored the Pioneers 43-26 in the second half. UC led just 30-26 at the halftime break.
UC also outrebounded Point Park 46-34 in the win.
Point Park shot 31 percent from the floor on the evening, including just 3-of-28 from behind the arc (10.7%).
Anderson and Keys both came off the bench to score 10 points apiece for Point Park.
Kaden Warner finished the evening with nine points, while
Brenden Williams finished with six.
Nazareth Fisher scored five points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds.
Ja'Corey Lipkins scored a game-high 20 points to lead Charleston in the win. Obinna Ugwuakazi recorded a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dwaine Jones also had a big night for Charleston with eight points and 11 assists.
Point Park will play its first home game of 2025 on Saturday afternoon at CCAC. The MEC matchup against West Virginia State is slated for a 4 p.m. tip.
