WHEELING, W.Va. – The Point Park men's cross country team took sixth place at Saturday morning's Mountain East Conference Men's Cross Country Championships hosted at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, West Virginia.
The Pioneers were led in the 8K race by
Elijah Bechdel with a time of 27:35.91. He finished in 28
th place. Racing in his second MEC Championship,
Luke McKenna turned in a time of 27:51.11 to take 31
st place.

Pedro Lemos (36
th) and
Chase Bowen (38
th) rounded out Point Park's top five runners in the race.
The University of Charleston won the 2025 MEC Men's Cross Country Championship, placing the top four runners in the race. UC's Hugo Hewitt took home the individual championship.
On the team leaderboard, Charleston scored 27 points to win the championship, followed by Davis & Elkins (47), West Virginia Wesleyan (103), Concord (122) and West Liberty (148). PPU scored 157 points to take sixth.
Point Park will cap the 2025 season next Saturday at the 16
th Annual Go-Fast River Run hosted by Lock Haven University. The men's 8k is slated for a 1 p.m. start.
