BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – West Virginia Wesleyan used a big third quarter to pull away for an 83-58 Mountain East Conference win over Point Park on Wednesday evening at the Rockefeller Center.
Leading by seven at the half, the Bobcats outscored the Pioneers by a 29-16 margin in the third quarter to stretch its lead into double figures. Wesleyan shot 53 percent (35-66) from the floor, compared to 40 percent (24-60) for Point Park.
Point Park got a team-high 17 points and five rebounds from
Elizabeth Boyd off the bench.
Camille Fultz chipped in 13 points, while
Teshaya Anderson added 12 more points off the bench. The Pioneers also got six points, six rebounds and four blocks from
Kamryn Pieper and
Amaya Richardson chipped in five points.
The Pioneers made just 4-of-18 from three-point range (22.2%) and 6-of-12 from the free throw line (50%).
Kilah Dandridge finished the evening with 30 points to lead the Bobcats, while Ana Young chipped in 18 points. Emma Witt recorded 15 points and eight rebounds in the post.
Point Park will now play two in a row at home, beginning on Saturday against Davis & Elkins. Tip is set for 2 p.m. at CCAC-Allegheny.
