PITTSBURGH – The Point Park men's soccer team will look for its first win of the season on Sunday afternoon in Mountain East Conference play against Wheeling University. Kickoff is set for 12 noon from Bishop Schmitt Stadium in Wheeling.
 
Storylines

• Point Park is 0-2 on the season, suffering losses to Salem (1-0) and Concord (4-0) to open the 2025 campaign.
• In their 1-0 loss to Salem in the season opener, the Pioneers were outshot 13-7 on the offensive end, including a 5-1 advantage in on-target shots for the Tigers. Salem scored in the 77^th minute to earn the win.
• Cheroky Briard led the Pioneers offense in the game with two total shots, including the team's only shot on goal.
• In the PPU net, Gregorio Capponi recorded three saves against Salem.
• In Point Park's conference opener at Concord on Wednesday, the Mountain Lions scored three second-half goals to pull away in the 4-0 victory. All-MEC standout Kai Forsyth led Concord with two goals in the game.
• Statistically against Concord, the Mountain Lions held a 23-8 advantage in shots, including a 12-2 edge in shots on goal.
• Rocco Domenighini and Guy Lehrer recorded two shots apiece against Concord. Capponi turned away eight on-target shots in the game.
• A season ago, Wheeling and Point Park battled to a 0-0 draw in Pittsburgh (9/18/24) and the Cardinals picked up a 1-0 victory in Wheeling (10/20/24).
