ALLIANCE, Ohio – Four Pioneers picked up victories during the Purple Raider Open hosted by Mount Union on Sunday in Alliance, Ohio.
 
Aiden Burford, Liam Hein, Charles Perkins and Oscar Simmons IV earned wins for the Pioneers during bracket competition.
 
Burford opened his day with a fall victory at 4:56 to defeat Ohio University's Austin Mckee at 141 pounds.
 
Hein, wrestling at 149 pounds, dropped his opening round match by tech fall, but recovered in his second bout to defeat Logan Miller (unattached) by fall at 6:27.
 
At 174 pounds, Perkins opened his day with a pin at 4:58 over Thiel's Zach Ward.
 
In the heavyweight bracket, Oscar Simmons earned a medical forfeit in his second bout.
