Pioneers Wrap Up Regular Season at Salem

PITTSBURGH – Point Park men's basketball closes out its regular season Saturday afternoon with a non-conference matchup against the Salem Tigers. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.

The Pioneers enter the contest having dropped their last five games, including an 93-83 senior-night loss to Wheeling on Wednesday. With the MEC Tournament beginning next week, Point Park will look to build momentum heading into postseason play.

Salem has struggled down the stretch as well, losing eight of its last 10 contests. The Tigers' most recent victory came on February 18, when they defeated Frostburg State, 97-94.

Point Park leads the all-time series 3-2 and won the previous meeting earlier this season, 101-89, in Pittsburgh (Jan. 24). In that contest, Aidan Anderson recorded a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Grant Welch, Greg Williams, and Kaden Warner also finished in double figures. For the Tigers, Zahki Fallen poured in 33 points, Jamari Gamble added 22, while Emal Lawal and Zavier Price each chipped in 12.

2026 MEC Men's Basketball Tournament

Point Park has officially clinched a berth in the 2026 MEC Men's Basketball Tournament, presented by The Health Plan. With seeds 6 through 10 still up for grabs, the Pioneers' opponent and game time remain to be determined.

The only locked-in seeds are No. 1 West Liberty and No. 2 Fairmont State.
