ASHLAND, Ohio -- Point Park women's soccer fell to No. 22-ranked Ashland on Saturday night by a final score of 1-0 at Ferguson Field at Dwight Schar Athletic Complex. The Pioneers dropped to 0-2-0 on the young season with the result.

Adi Turnbaugh's goal in the 42nd minute elevated the host Eagles (1-0-1). Addi Pittman sent a corner into the far edge of the 18-yard box, where Pittman was able to deposit her shot into the far left corner.Â

Pioneer goalkeeper Nicole Kuchinski made seven saves in her first appearance of the 2026 season. Kuchinski tied a career record in saves on Saturday, tying her mark from Sept. 4, 2025, against Florida Southern. AU outshot the Pioneers 11 to 3, including a whopping seven first-half shots. All three of Point Park's attempts were on goal.

In her first start as a Pioneer, Rebecca Simpkins led the team with her two shots on goal, both of which came in the last five minutes of the game. Jamie Spurrell registered Point Park's first shot of the night.

Tessa Blain and Aubrey Krischano tied with Simpkins for the game high with two shots. The Eagles featured seven players with a shot on goal: Adi Turnbaugh, Blain, Cece Craig, Ella Schneider, Ella Garner, Krischano and Raquel Patalon.

Point Park will be idle through this coming week before it opens conference play against Wheeling on Sunday. The Pioneers will open the home portion of the schedule, with kickoff coming at 1 p.m. from F.N.B. Stadium.
