KUTZTOWN, Pa. – Led by five runners in the top 10 of the men's 8k race on Saturday, Point Park brought home championship honors from the Kutztown DII/DIII Challenge.
Luke McKenna took first place in the race with a time of 25:42.1, finishing ahead of Lock Haven's Jakob Rager (25:58.2) and Scranton's Brayden Clarke (25:59.3) in the top three.
Point Park also occupied the seventh through ten spots on the individual leaderboard.
Canaan Thomas (26:33.0) took seventh, followed by
Ari Snyder (26:43.0),
Jorge Estalella (27:00.0) and
Elijah Bechdel (27:13.5).
The Pioneers added two more finishers in the top 20 with
Albin Petschauer in 14
th (27:27.3) and
Chase Bowen in 19
th (27:39.1).
Point Park took first with a team score of 35, finishing ahead of Kutztown (49) and Lock Haven (63).
Point Park returns to action on Friday, Sept. 25 at the Atlantic Region Preview Meet in Kernersville, North Carolina. The 8k race will be run at the Ivey Redmond Sports Complex.
