Rocky Capobianco

Rocky Capobianco is entering his 17th season as an assistant coach for the Point Park baseball program, including his 10th year as associate head coach.

He assists in all aspects of the program with a primary responsibility of serving as the Pioneer's first-base coach and recruiting coordinator. He also works extensively with the team's outfielders.

He has helped Point Park to historic success alongside head coach Loren Torres, including over 650 wins, eight NAIA Tournament appearances and six conference tournament championships. In 2012, Capobianco helped Point Park to the NAIA World Series, where the Pioneers finished fifth in the nation with a record of 53-11.

Capobianco, who played for the Pioneers in 2006 and 2007 as an outfielder and pitcher, has had numerous conference Gold Glove outfielder under his tutelage at PPU. He has also coached numerous all-conference players and 2015 NAIA Gold Glove winner Demetrius Moorer in the outfield. In 2025, starting center fielder Jared Campbell was named the MEC Offensive Player of the Year and was named All-American by two publications.

Capobianco is a native of Penn Hills, Pa., outside of Pittsburgh. He started his college baseball career at Marietta (Ohio) College, where he was a part of an NCAA Division III national championship team as a sophomore. In 2016, he was inducted into the Penn Hills Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments.
