Jason Kim is currently in his second-stint on Loren Torres' baseball staff at Point Park University, serving as assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and head of player development since 2022.

His first stint with the green and white ran from 2016 to 2020 as the program’s pitching coach. In 2021-2022, he served as pitching coach at Concordia University of Ann Arbor.

Kim has helped Point Park to three NAIA National Tournament appearances in 2018, 2023 and 2024, including a record of 47-9 in 2018. The Pioneers have also won three conference regular season championships (2017, 2024, 2025) and four conference tournament titles (2018, 2023, 2024, 2025) with Kim on the coaching staff.

After winning two-straight conference tournament championships in the River States Conference in 2023 and 2024, Kim was instrumental in Point Park’s move to NCAA Division II, as the Pioneers won the Mountain East Conference North Division and Tournament Championships in the program’s first season competing in the NCAA. The 2025 Pioneers also finished the season ranked in the Top 10 in the Atlantic Region rankings and finished the year with a record of 41-13.

Kim has coached an NAIA and NCAA All-American, 23 all-conference players and nine NAIA Scholar-Athletes while on PPU’s baseball staff.

In his short time at Concordia-Ann Arbor, the team went 89-31 with two NCCAA World Series appearances, including a national championship in 2022. He coaches multiple first- and second-team All-Americans at Concordia-Ann Arbor.

As a player for the Pioneers in 2015 and 2016, Kim was highly decorated as a member of the Pioneer pitching staff.

In 2015, he was named KIAC Pitcher of the Year and a first team all-conference selection. That season he posted an 8-2 record and 1.99 ERA. He also had an OPS of .220 and ranked Top 25 in the NAIA in walks allowed (8), earned runs allowed (15), and walks allowed per nine innings (1.16).

As a senior in 2016, Kim finished the year with a 5-3 mark. That season he led the conference in innings pitched per outing (6.30) and fewest walks per nine innings (0.86). He ranked Top 5 in the NAIA in walks allowed (6), walks per nine innings, and total runs allowed (23). He was a first team all-conference pick and a gold glove recipient as a senior.

In addition to his impact on game day, Kim leads the recruiting efforts for PPU, with primary responsibilities in California, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Florida and Ohio. He also has contacts in the east and midwest, as well as South Korea and the Dominican overseas.

Kim also spent 2017 and 2018 coaching Steel City Select in nearby Wexford.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management from Point Park University in 2018. He obtained a Master of Education in Athletic Coaching from PPU in 2020.
