Point Park University Head Track & Field Coach Tim Creamer has announced the addition of Julius Rivera to his program's coaching staff for the 2026-27 season.

"I'm excited to add Julius to our coaching staff and look forward to his impact on our program and student-athletes," said Creamer. "His connections and experience in youth track and field, the WPIAL, and in the international/professional track and field world made it an easy decision to bring Julius aboard and join our track and field family. He will make an immediate impact with our sprint groups as a coach that is a former a Division II student-athlete and is still competing at a high level nationally."

Rivera comes to Point Park after serving as sprints coach for the track & field team at Gateway Senior High School (Monroeville, Pa.) for the past year. While at Gateway, Rivera coached at pair of WPIAL Champions in the 4x100 meter relay and 100-meter dash.

He also brings collegiate coaching experience on his resume, serving as assistant track & field coach at Carnegie Mellon University from 2021-2023. The CMU coaching staff earned UAA Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2022-23.

He has also served as a coach for the Future Stars Athletics Club, a USATF Junior Olympics Club in Pittsburgh, since 2019.

"I'm very proud to join the Point Park Track & Field staff and grateful to Coach (Tim) Creamer for the opportunity," said Rivera. "Track has been my passion in life from a young age. I do my best to give back to my athletes, what my coaches gave to me through my career. I strive to be the coach my younger self needed at times. It's a great feeling to watch my athletes be successful and accomplish greatness. I'm excited to do that here at Point Park."
