Zach Mizer

Zach Mizer enters his second season leading the nearly added men's wrestling program at Point Park University. He joined the Pioneers in 2024 and immediately began recruiting Point Park's first wrestling roster.

Mizer came to Point Park from Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas. At Lyon, Mizer served as the head men's wrestling coach since 2022. In his time at Lyon, Mizer coached seven NCWA national qualifiers, five all-conference standouts, and three scholar All-Americans.

Before his time at LC, Mizer served as head coach at Muskingum University in Ohio from 2014 to 2021. At Muskingum, Mizer coached the schools' first national qualifier in over a decade as well as coaching four All-Conference honorees, six All-Region picks, and three Scholar All-Americans during his tenure.

Mizer also served two years as an assistant wrestling coach at Buena Vista University in Iowa. As an assistant coach for the Beavers, he was essential to all aspects of the program as he was involved in recruiting, coordinating, organizing and executing practice plans, arranging team travel, assisting in fundraising, and reviewing match film with student-athletes.

While at Buena Vista, Mizer coached a national qualifier, as well as three Academic All-Americans.

Mizer is a 2010 graduate of Heidelberg University, where he graduated with a B.S. in History. During his time at Heidelberg, Mizer competed on the wrestling team, where he was a four-year letterwinner and a three-time national qualifier. He finished as NCAA runner-up in 2010.

During his collegiate career, Mizer posted a career record of 112-42, finishing second on the school's all-time wins list.

Mizer resides in Pittsburgh with his wife Tina, and two children, Wyatt and Hadley.
