Box Score BECKLEY, W.Va. -- In a matchup of a couple of the top teams in the River States Conference, Point Park University men's soccer lost at WVU Tech, 3-0, on Saturday night.
The Pioneers (8-4-3, 5-2-1 RSC) are now in third place in the RSC after the result with WVU Tech (9-4-2, 7-0-1 RSC) and Rio Grande (11-1-2, 8-0-1 RSC) both still unbeaten in the conference.
WVU Tech build a slim lead of 1-0 at the half thanks to a goal by Adam Seams in the 32nd minute. That came on a corner kick and was one of just two shotson goal for the Golden Bears the first half.
WVU Tech added on two more goals in the second half -- first by Ollie Corris in the 53rd minute -- and then by Alejandro Moreno in the 83rd minute after the Pioneers went down a man.
The Golden Bears had five of their shots go on goal and converted on three of them. Point Park was held to one shot, and it was on goal.
Fouls and cards were a factor with WVU Tech whistled for 13 fouls and a team yellow card while Point Park was called for 10 fouls, five yellows and a red.
Point Park has two more games in the regular season beginning Oct. 26 at No. 7-ranked Rio Grande (Ohio) followed by Oct. 28 at home to IUPUC for Senior Day.
