Point Park men's soccer takes 0-0 draw at Washington Adventist (Md.)

TAKOMA PARK, Md. -- Point Park University men's soccer drew Washington Adventist (Md.) University, 0-0, in an NAIA non-conference game on Sunday. The Pioneers (3-2-2) had their second tie in a row while The Shock (6-2-1) tied for the first time. 

Point Park mounted 10 shots in the first half but did not find the back of the net. The Pioneers had another nine shots after halftime and put 16 shots on goal in all with eight coming in each half. 

WAU goalkeeper Gregorio Capponi had a big game with 14 saves while Point Park's Eduard Garcia posted a shutout as well with seven saves. 

Point Park was whistled for 10 fouls compared to five for the hosts. The shot advantage was 19-11 in favor of the Pioneers. Shot leaders for Point Park were Moritz Sarfert with five, Philipp Harder with four and Korby Ring three. 

Point Park will start River States Conference play in its next games. The Pioneers host Brescia (Ky.) and Oakland City (Ind.) on Sept. 21 and 23 at Highmark Stadium.
