MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Millersville opened a 52-25 halftime lead and went on to pick up a 95-72 victory over Point Park on Sunday afternoon on day two of the Ron Wilson Classic. Millersville shot 62 percent from the floor (23-of-37) in the opening half to open up the early double-digit lead.
Point Park shot just 9-of-30 (30%) in the opening half and ended the game shooting 39.4 percent from the floor. After making 14 three-pointers in Saturday's season opener, the Pioneers shot just 7-of-22 from long range on Sunday.
Brenden Williams came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points for Point Park.
Aiden Miller and
Rob Keys chipped in 10 points apiece. After scoring 30 points in Saturday's season opener,
Kaden Warner was limited to seven on Sunday against Millersville.
Drew Stover led Millersville with 20 points and four rebounds in the game. Saraj Ali chipped in 18 points and seven rebounds.
The Marauders cooled off a bit in the second half, but finished the game making 54 percent of its field goals (38-of-70). Millersville also held a 39-36 rebounding advantage and scored 32 points in transition after forcing 17 turnovers in the game.
Point Park will open Mountain East Conference play on Thursday evening against Glenville State. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. at CCAC.
