WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Nazareth Fisher scored a career-high 30 points and pulled down 22 rebounds in Point Park's narrow loss (88-80) to seventh-ranked West Liberty on Saturday afternoon at the ASRC.
The Pioneers trailed by as many as 18 early in the second half, before trimming the lead to seven twice in the final four minutes of the game.
Point Park shot 46 percent from the floor (27-59) and made 23-of-31 free throw attempts in the game. The Pioneers also held a 53-31 rebounding advantage in the game.
In addition to Fisher's career day,
Aidan Anderson also chipped in 14 points and five rebounds.
Kaden Warner was the third Pioneers in double-figures with 11 points to go with four rebounds and three assists.
Aiden Miller also chipped in seven points and eight rebounds.
West Liberty finished the game shooting 39.5 percent (34-86) from the floor and 27.0 percent (10-37) from three.
Finley Woodward led five double-figure scorers for West Liberty with 18 points and four assists. Kyler D'Augustino chipped in 17 points, while JJ Harper and Lanyc Shuler scored 15 apiece.
The West Liberty press forced Point Park into 25 turnovers on the afternoon, with the Hilltoppers scoring 28 points off-turnovers and 25 on the fast-break in the win. Conversely, West Liberty turned the ball over just five times in the game.
Point Park will return home to host Wheeling University on Tuesday evening at CCAC. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. in the MEC matchup.
