PITTSBURGH – Point Park picked up a hard-fought 75-71 victory over Wheeling University on Tuesday evening at CCAC.
In the victory, forward
Nazareth Fisher tied the Mountain East Conference record for single-game rebounds with 25. Fisher also added 14 points, two blocked shots and two steals in the win.
Fisher has recorded double-digit rebounds in five of seven games this season, including rebounding performances of 19 (11/14), 22 (11/23) and 25 (11/26) already this season.
Kaden Warner led the Pioneers in scoring on Tuesday with 20 points to go with eight assists.
Brenden Williams filled the stat sheet with 18 points, six rebounds and four assists, while
Aiden Miller recorded a double-double with 10 points and 16 rebounds.
Point Park shot just under 41 percent from the floor (29-71) with 10 three-pointers in the win. The Pioneers also held a 54-44 rebounding advantage (including 18 offensive rebounds).
Tee Harris led Wheeling with 22 points and 11 rebounds in the narrow defeat. Sean Ealy chipped in 17 points for the Cardinals, while William Gabbert finished with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Wheeling shot just under 37 percent from the floor (29-79) and made just 8-of-23 shots from behind the arc.
Point Park (4-3, 1-2 MEC) will now take a few days off for the Thanksgiving holiday, before returning to action on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at Concord. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
With Tuesday's win, Point Park improved to 3-1 at CCAC this season.
