PITTSBURGH - The Point Park women's basketball team fell to Wheeling 72-63 in a MEC matchup at the CCAC-Allegheny Gym.

A 20-point fourth quarter by the Wheeling Cardinals was enough to put the Pioneers away as the Cardinals shot 46.67 percent from the floor and 5-7 from the free throw line in the final quarter.

For the Pioneers, four players scored in double digits with
Alexis Giles leading the Pioneers with 15 points.
Ari Bleda and
Emma Pavelek each put up 14 while
Aichata Ballo chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds.
Camille Fultz had 7 rebounds in the effort.

The Pioneers shot 41.2 percent from the floor with the third quarter featuring 80 percent shooting on 8 for 10 in field goals made. Point Park also shot 75% from the charity stripe going 15 for 20.

Point Park falls to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in MEC play. The Pioneers will have the rest of the week off and will return to the court next Wednesday in Athens, West Virginia against Concord. Tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
