ATHENS, WV- The Point Park women's basketball team picked up their first MEC win with a 76-71 win over Concord on Wednesday Night from the Carter Center.

Despite trailing at the half, Point Park turned up the offense in the second half outscoring Concord 41-34 on 13 for 24 shooting from the floor while going 13 for 18 from the free throw line. For the game the Pioneers shot 43.5 percent from the floor and 60 percent at the charity stripe.

Point Park dominated the Cougars down low, picking up 46 points in the paint compared to Concords 26. The Pioneers had five players score in double-digits with
Aichata Ballo leading the offensive scoring with 18 points on 7 for 13 shooting from the floor.

Emma Pavelek picked up a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead on the glass for the Pioneers.
Ari Bleda got in on the scoring with 15 points, five rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Alexis Giles and
Camille Fultz each contributed ten.
Chloe Williams came off the bench for Point Park and contributed with six points and five rebounds.
Janiah Tillman rounded out the scoring with a three-point shot.

For Concord Abbie smith recorded a double-double leading the Cougars in scoring and rebounds. Smith put up 17 points and grabbed an impressive 15 boards for Concord.

With the win, Point Park moves to 2-6 on the year and 1-3 in MEC play. The Pioneers will have the next week off and will return to the home court next Wednesday for an MEC matchup against West Virginia Wesleyan. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
