MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Kaden Warner scored 30 points to lead Point Park to a 90-73 season-opening victory over Mansfield on Day 1 of the Ron Wilson Classic hosted by Millersville University.
Warner shot 9-of-23 from the floor with eight made 3-pointers on the night. He also chipped in two rebounds and five assists.
As a team, Point Park drained 14-of-27 shots from behind the arc (51.9 percent). From the field, Point Park shot 43.7 percent for the game (31-71). At the free throw line, Point Park connected on 14-of-17 attempts.
In addition to Warner,
Lance Singh finished with 15 points, all coming from his five 3-point field goals.
Aidan Anderson chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds, while
Nazareth Fisher scored 12 points to go with 13 rebounds for a double-double performance.
Nathaniel Van also scored nine points.
The Pioneers finished the game with a 49-35 rebounding advantage.
Scott Woodring led Mansfield with 17 points and five rebounds on the night. LJ Stansbury added 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Mansfield shot 42 percent from the floor (29-69) but struggled from three-point range (7-25).
Point Park will wrap up the weekend against Millersville on Sunday afternoon at Pucillo Gymnasium. Tip is set for 3 p.m. on day two of the Ron Wilson Classic.
