PITTSBURGH – Kaden Warner scored a team-high 21 points to lead Point Park to a 68-60 home victory over West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday afternoon at CCAC-Allegheny.
Warner scored 14 of his 21 points in the final 9:33 of the second half to help the Pioneers hold off the Bobcats. Warner went 7 of 13 from the floor with four 3-pointers, five rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Nathanial Van finished the afternoon with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while
Nazareth Fisher and
Brenden Williams added eight points apiece.
Aiden Miller led Point Park with eight rebounds.
Both teams shot 35 percent from the floor on the afternoon, with both teams shooting under 31 percent in the opening half. Wesleyan held a 40-38 rebounding advantage.
Stephen Ovia scored a team-high 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead West Virginia Wesleyan. Michael Batchelor and Alex Mirhosseini also chipped in on the offensive end with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Mirhosseini added 12 rebounds and six assists to record a double-double.
Point Park will wrap up the 2024 portion of its MEC schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. matchup at Davis & Elkins.
