Pioneers Fall on the Road at Davis & Elkins

ELKINS, W.Va. – The Point Park women's basketball team shot only 26 percent from the floor as the Pioneers fell 65-51 against MEC opponent Davis & Elkins on Saturday afternoon at the McDonnell Center.  
 
A massive first quarter by the Senators set the tone for the game as Davis & Elkins quickly came out and led 29-7 on 11 for 19 shooting.
 
The Pioneers battled back in the second and third quarters but was once again held to single digits in the fourth to seal the win for Davis & Elkins. From the floor the Pioneers were 18 for 69 and 3 for 26 from deep. At the free throw line Point Park shot 44.4 percent on 12 for 27 from the charity stripe.
 
Camille Fultz led Point Park picking up another double-double on the season with 14 points on 53.8 percent shooting (7-13) while adding in 11 rebounds. Emma Pavelek was the only other Pioneer to reach double-digits as the senior scored 12 points. Pavelek has now eclipsed the 100-point mark for the season registering a team leading 104 points.
 
For Davis & Elkins, three players scored double-digits as the Senators shot 36.8 percent in the matchup. LaChazity Shaver led the Senators with 14 points and was a perfect 3 for 3 from beyond the arc.
 
Point Park (2-8 overall, 1-5 MEC) will be off until next Thursday where they will head to Clarion University for a mid-week non-conference matchup scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
