PITTSBURGH – Point Park shot over 52 percent from the floor and made 16 three-pointers in a runaway 118-68 victory over Penn State Shenango on Friday evening at CCAC.
With the win, Point Park improved to 8-4 on the season and enters the holiday break on a four-game winning streak. The Pioneers were 6-1 at home during the fall semester.
Without the services of leading scorer
Kaden Warner on Friday night, five Pioneers reached double-figures and four recorded double-double performances.
Brenden Williams scored a game- and team-high 20 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.
Rob Keys added 19 points and passed out 10 assists, while
Aiden Miller chipped in 18 points and six rebounds.
Nazareth Fisher finished the evening with 16 points and 18 rebounds, while
Aidan Anderson chipped in 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Point Park went 16-of-37 from three, getting five triples from Keys and three more from
Nick Marshall, who finished with nine points and eight rebounds.
On the glass, Point Park held a 74-19 advantage, which included 29 offensive rebounds.
Danny Hughley III scored a team-high 18 points to lead Penn State Shenango. Izzy Santiago chipped in 12 points and three steals.
Despite shooting just 35 percent from the floor (25-of-71), PSU-Shenango made 13 three-pointers in the game.
Point Park will return to Mountain East Conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 8 with a road game at the University of Charleston. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m.
