PITTSBURGH – Fairmont State outscored 13-7 in the final five minutes of play to rally to a narrow 84-79 victory over Point Park on Wednesday afternoon at CCAC.
Point Park moves to 9-6 overall on the season, including 4-5 in league play. Fairmont State improved to 13-2 on the year, including an 8-1 mark in MEC play.
Aiden Miller recorded a double-double with 23 points, 13 rebounds and five assists in the win.
Brenden Williams chipped in 19 points.
Kaden Warner and
Nathanial Van also reached double-figures with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
Nazareth Fisher pulled down 11 rebounds to go with four points.
Fairmont State outshot Point Park by a narrow clip (46.9%-to-43.7%). Point Park outrebounded the Falcons by ten (45-35).
Andre Harris scored a game-high 29 points to lead Fairmont State. David Jolinder chipped in 19 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Wednesday's game featured nine ties and 13 lead changes, including a four-point (38-34) Point Park lead at the half.
Point Park will hit the road for a matchup against Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon. Tip is set for 4 p.m. at Bobcat Arena.
