FROSTBURG, Md. – Point Park and Frostburg State battled to a 0-0 draw on Saturday evening as both teams earned one point in the Mountain East Conference North Division standings.
Saturday's result is the third shutout of the season for Point Park.
Following the game, Point Park moved to 6-6-3 overall and 5-5-2 in league play. Frostburg State is 8-4-3 overall and 6-3-3 in MEC play. The Bobcats (21 points) are currently in second place in the MEC North, four points ahead of Point Park (17) in third. Both teams have clinched a spot in the upcoming MEC Women's Soccer Tournament.
In the draw, Frostburg State held a 5-1 edge in on-target shot attempts. The Bobcats also had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks in the game.
Point Park's
Jurnee Durrett-Finney recorded all three of Point Park's shot attempts, including the team's only on-target attempt at the 41:08 mark of the opening half.
Frostburg State was led by Carly Gillette with seven total shots in the game, including two that were on-target.
Nicole Kuchinski made the start in the Point Park goal and made four saves in the shutout performance. She is now 0-0-3 on the season.
Kayla Doty also recorded in a shutout in the Frostburg State goal with one save in the game.
Point Park now returns home on Wednesday to host West Liberty at Highmark Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
