INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Point Park dropped a 3-0 final to West Virginia State on Saturday evening at the Walker Convocation Center in Institute, West Virginia. The Yellow Jackets won by set scores of 25-18, 25-23 and 25-19.
Nicole Reasbeck led the Pioneers in the match with 15 kills and nine digs.
Avery Budrys Rini finished the evening with nine kills and seven digs.
Sara Faith also had a big day on offense with six kills and two blocks.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera filled the stat sheet from her setter position, finishing the match with 28 assists, nine digs and six kills.
Savannah Kitchen had a team-high three blocks in the match.
Carmen Perez led West Virginia State with 10 kills and nine digs. Alyssa Hill chipped in nine kills, five digs and four blocks for the Yellow Jackets.
Statistically, West Virginia State held a 9-3 advantage in blocks while hitting .219 in the match. Point Park hit .070 in the setback while holding an 8-3 advantage in service errors.
Point Park returns home on Tuesday night to host Frostburg State at the Student Center. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
