EDINBORO, Pa. – Edinboro used its size advantage to pick up an 86-74 win over Point Park on Wednesday evening at McComb Fieldhouse in Edinboro.
Edinboro held a 45-25 advantage on the glass, including 18 offensive rebounds. The Fighting Scots scored 36 points in the paint and had 15 second-chance points in the win.
Both teams shot well on the offensive end, with Edinboro holding a slim edge from the field (47.8%-to-46.7%).
Kaden Warner led the Pioneers in the season opener with 26 points to go with nine rebounds and three assists. Warner shot 10-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-5 from three.
Greg Williams also scored 12 points on the evening, while
Aidan Anderson added 11.
Brenden Williams rounded out Point Park's double-figure scorers with 10 points to go with three assists.
Grant Welch also scored seven points.
Rowan Carmichael scored a team- and game-high 31 points off the bench for the Scots. Bryce Baez recorded a double-double with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
Point Park returns to action next Tuesday with an afternoon matchup against Pitt-Johnstown. Tip is set for 12 noon.
