TIFFIN, Ohio – Tiffin edged out an 84-77 win over Point Park on Sunday afternoon at the Gillmor Center in Tiffin, Ohio.
Aidan Anderson led Point Park with 28 points, two rebounds and one steal. Anderson was 10-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-5 from behind the arc. The Pioneers also got 15 points from
Grant Welch and 10 points and four assists from
Jaylen Stewart.
Greg Williams and
Kaden Warner also chipped in offensively with eight and seven points, respectively. Warner also pulled down a team-high six rebounds for PPU.
Point Park shot 44 percent (27-61) from the floor with 10 3-pointers in the setback. The Pioneers were out-rebounded for the third time this season, as Tiffin held a 38-25 edge on the glass.
Offensively, Tiffin shot 51 percent from the floor (26-51) with 40 points in the paint and 15 second-chance points.
Tiffin (3-2 on the season) had five double-figure scorers in the win, led by Jonah Nesmith with 17 points, six rebounds and four blocks. Demar Burton also chipped in 16 points and eight rebounds. TJ Pangonas and Noah Smith also scored 13 points apiece.
Up next, Point Park will open MEC play against Wheeling University. The road game is slated for Wednesday, Dec. 3 with a 7:30 p.m. tip on the road.
