PITTSBURGH – Concord opened up a 49-29 halftime lead and maintained it double-digit lead throughout the second half to come away with a 78-64 win over Point Park on Wednesday night at CCAC.
With the win, Concord moved to 4-0 in league play and improved to 7-4 on the season. Point Park is now 3-5 overall and 1-4 in the MEC.
Concord outshot Point Park 41.4 to 37.1 percent from the floor, but the biggest difference was from behind the arc, where Concord shot 13-for-27 in the game. The Pioneers were just 3-of-16 from long range.
Fatim Sarr Ndow led Point Park with a double-double on Wednesday, recording 11 points to go with 12 rebounds.
Teshaya Anderson chipped in 10 points. The Pioneers also got eight points from
Sophia Moore, seven points and six rebounds from
Camille Fultz, and six points and five rebounds from
Elizabeth Boyd.
Abbie Smith recorded 17 points and 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double for Concord. Alexis Frazee finished with 17 points, while Lacee Smith chipped in 15. Frazee and Smith both made five 3-pointers in the game.
Point Park will now prepare for an exhibition game against Robert Morris on Friday evening in Moon Township. Tip is set for 6 p.m.
