WHEELING, W.Va. – Wheeling outscored Point Park 30-8 in the third quarter and erased a three-point halftime deficit to defeat the Pioneers 67-53 on Wednesday evening at the Alma Grace McDonough Center in Wheeling.
The Pioneers had three double-figure scorers in the setback, led by
Camille Fultz with 16 points on 7-of-14 from the floor.
Elizabeth Boyd recorded a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while
Fatim Sarr Ndow chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Kamryn Pieper also chipped in five points, five rebounds and four assists.
Point Park shot 39 percent from the floor but connected on just 2-of-13 from behind the arc. On the other end, Wheeling shot 45 percent from the field (28-62). The Cardinals also held a 36-35 advantage on the glass.
Emilia Sierra Lacosta scored 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the Cardinals. Kenzie Dalton chipped in 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Point Park will return to MEC action on Saturday at West Liberty. Tip is set for 2 p.m. at the ASRC.
