BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Point Park's
Dunya Van den Tooren was voted the first Mountain East Conference Track & Field Athlete of the Week this season, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Van den Tooren, a sophomore from The Netherlands, achieved two NCAA provisional marks and set a school record during Friday's annual Youngstown State Icebreaker event.
She set the provisional marks in the long jump (5.75m) and high jump (1.70m) events, while achieving a new school record in the long jump. She additionally recorded personal bests in the triple jump (11.51m) and 60m hurdles (9.55) events.
Van den Tooren shared MEC honors this week with Concord's Cassidey Hammonds.
