FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The No. 13-ranked Fairmont State men's basketball team closed out Point Park to pick up a 72-61 victory in Mountain East Conference play on Wednesday evening at Joe Retton Arena.
After Point Park took a 29-28 lead into the locker room at halftime, Fairmont State regrouped and shot 52 percent from the floor in the second half to pick up the 11-point win. The Falcons also held a 31-27 rebounding advantage in the win.
Aidan Anderson led Point Park with 13 point, six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the game.
Nick Marshall chipped in 12 points after making a trio of 3-pointers on the night.
Nathaniel Van rounded out the PPU players in double-figures with 11.
Nazareth Fisher led Point Park in the post with seven points and a team-high seven rebounds.
On the offensive end, Point Park shot 44.4 percent from the floor (24-54), including a 7-of-21 performance from three (33.3%).
Andre Harris led Fairmont State in the win with 19 points and five rebounds. Tommy Williams also reached double-figures with 14 points.
In addition to shooting over 50 percent from the floor in the second half, the Falcons also took 30 free throws in the final 20 minutes, knocking down 23 of the attempts.
For the game, Point Park was 6-of-9 from the charity stripe.
Point Park returns home on Saturday to host Frostburg State in MEC play. Tip is set for 4 p.m. at CCAC.
