CLINTON, Pa. – The Point Park women's cross country team took sixth place in Friday's Colonial Invitational hosted by Robert Morris University.
Sophomore
Cassondra O'Connor took seventh place to lead the Pioneers, turning in a personal best 6k time of 21:21.5. The top 10 finish is her second of the season after finishing first at the West Liberty Invitational last Thursday.
Zabine Von Westernhagen was the second PPU runner to cross the finish line in 22
nd place (22:12.0).
Aubrey Smith (22:39.5),
Sterre Kuijper (22:42.1) and
Sophia Lee-Hauser (22:56.0) finished 40
th, 42
nd, and 45
th, respectively.
Lotte Zethof (46
th, 22:57.1) and
Alana Dyce-Giraud (50
th, 23:06.9) also finished in the top 50 for the Pioneers.
Carnegie Mellon (31) took first place on the women's team leaderboard, followed by Walsh (42), Davis & Elkins (104), Duquesne (122) and West Virginia (122). Walsh's Claire Rethman (19:54.0) took first on the individual leaderboard.
Point Park returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at the 24
th Annual Lock Haven Invitational.
