LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Point Park men's and women's cross country teams each placed ninth in the Lock Haven Invitational Crimson Race. The event was hosted at the West Branch Country Club Course in Lock Haven.
In the women's 6k race,
Cassondra O'Connor placed third with a time of 21:38.10. She finished behind Walsh's Claire Rethman (20:27.20) and Davis & Elkins' Lauren Twyman (21:36.40).
Walsh topped the women's team standings with 28 points, followed by Davis & Elkins (66), Slippery Rock (117), Edinboro (132) and Bloomsburg (140).
Anna Babinyecz and
Alana Dyce-Giraud were the next two to cross the finish line for Point Park, placing 58
th and 59
th, respectively.
Lotte Zethof finished in 61
st place (23:21.4).
In the men's 8k,
Elijah Bechdel led Point Park with a 34
th place finish (25:34.5).
Luke McKenna (25:42.3) and
Chase Bowen (26:00.9) placed 39
th and 55
th, respectively.
The University of Charleston took first in the men's race with 71 points, followed by Walsh (79), Ashland (80), Davis & Elkins (95) and Lebanon Valley (124). IUP's Mike Formica took individual medalist honors in the race (24:12.7).
Point Park returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the 23
rd Annual Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
