NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Point Park volleyball team dropped a 3-0 final to Saginaw Valley State to close out play at this weekend's Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Walsh University. The Cardinals won by set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-12.
Statistically, Saginaw Valley hit .193 in the match while holding advantage in both blocks (5-4) and aces (7-1). Point Park struggled on the attack, recording just 21 kills while committing 22 errors on 106 total attacks.
Alex Koontz led the Pioneer with nine kills, 10 digs and two total blocks.
Avery Budrys Rini drove home eight kills while recording a team-high 11 digs.
Marianna Oyola-Rivera recorded 17 assists from her setter position.
Emily Foster and Ava Decker recorded eight kills apiece for Saginaw Valley in the win.
Point Park will return to the court on Tuesday afternoon at Pitt-Johnstown. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
