PITTSBURGH – Frostburg State limited Point Park to just 17 points in the second half and went on to defeat the Pioneers 60-44 on Saturday afternoon at CCAC.
The Bobcats outshot the Pioneers 37.1%-to-31.0% from the field and also held a 49-32 rebounding advantage in the win. Frostburg had a 14-0 advantage in second-chance points.
Camille Fultz finished with 10 points and three rebounds to lead the Pioneers.
Alexis Giles chipped in eight points. With her driving layup late in the second quarter, Giles eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in her collegiate career.
She is the second Pioneer to go over 1,000 points this season, joining Fultz, who surpassed 1,000 career points back on Dec. 3 against Wheeling.
The Pioneers also got five points apiece from
Kamryn Pieper,
Sophia Moore,
Elizabeth Boyd and
Kayla Walter. Boyd pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, while Pieper grabbed seven boards.
Ayla Hileman and Jenna Muha scored 12 points apiece to lead Frostburg State. Julie Spinelli recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Point Park returns to CCAC on Wednesday evening to host West Liberty. Tip is slated for 5:30 p.m.
