GLENVILLE, W.Va. - Glenville State took over in the second half to cruise to a 100-73 victory over Point Park on Saturday evening inside the Waco Center.
Leading by just one at the break (42-41), Glenville State outscored Point Park, 58-32, in the second half. Point Park started to make a comeback after the under-ten media timeout in the second half, cutting the GSU lead to just seven at the 8:58 mark, but a quick 8-0 run by the home team ended the comeback bid.
Kaden Warner finished with 22 points and five assists while also picking up a team-high seven boards. The visiting Pioneers had three players finish in double figures, with
Aidan Anderson scoring 19 and
Greg Williams adding 17.
Point Park had 14 assists on 26 made field goals.
Glenville State outshot the Pioneers 46.1%-to-43.3% on the offensive end, with the biggest difference coming in the paint. Glenville State had 45 rebounds, with 22 on offensive glass (Point Park finished with 25 rebounds). The hosts would also go on to shoot 45.7 percent from beyond the arc (16-35).
Prince Mosengo led the hosts with a double-double, scoring 24 point and grabbing 15 rebounds. Jalen Knott also helped with 18 points and three assists. Elijah Redfern led Glenville State in assists with four.
With the win, Glenville State improved to 7-5 overall and 2-3 in the MEC.
Point Park (2-8, 1-5 MEC) will return to action on Thursday evening when Charleston visits CCAC for a 6 p.m. tip in Pittsburgh.
