FROSTBURG, Md. – A cold-shooting first half proved to be the difference in a 92-68 Point Park loss at Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon inside Bobcat Arena.
In the opening 20 minutes, Point Park went just 8-of-29 (27.6%) from the floor, making only 2-of-13 attempts (15.4%) from behind the arc. On the other end, Frostburg State shot over 45 percent from the floor and took a 42-21 lead into the locker room.
Kaden Warner led all scorers with 27 points in the game.
Aidan Anderson chipped in 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
Jaylen Stewart also chipped in seven points, while
Rob Keys and
Jayden Davis scored six apiece.
For the game, Point Park shot 39 percent from the floor and was outrebounded 46-30.
Frostburg State shot nearly 50 percent from the floor in the game and scored 50 second-half points to close out the 24-point win. The Bobcats also outscored the Pioneers 40-18 in the paint.
DJ Daniels led the way for Frostburg State with 24 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kyle Whippen chipped in 19. His brother, Chase (Whippen) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Point Park (7-17, 5-14 MEC) wraps up conference play on Wednesday night against Wheeling. Tip is slated for 7:30 p.m. at CCAC. Wednesday night is senior night, with six Pioneers playing their final home game in green and white.
