PITTSBURGH - Fairmont State outscored Point Park 13-2 over the two games earning the sweep on Monday afternoon at Fairhaven Park.
GAME 1: Fairmont State 9, Point Park 1 (5 innings)

Two big innings powered Fairmont State to a decisive win in game one.
Jaylin McGill started the scoring with a one-out single and moved to second on a walk by Paige Matteson. Both runners advanced on steals and scored on an Abbie Keilholz double to center field. After the lineup turned over, Bella Hess drew a walk, and Keilholz advanced on a wild pitch. Avery Townsend reached on a fielder's choice to bring in another run, and Emma Paul followed with a two-run single to center, giving the Falcons a 5–0 lead.
Fairmont State added another run in the third. Alexa Foresha led off with a single and eventually scored, extending the lead to 6–0.
Point Park got on the board in the bottom of the third. Payton Haller led off with a walk, and Kaylee Fabiano followed with a bunt single. Mia Arndt added a single to load the bases, but a fielder's choice resulted in an out at home. Ava Hubble then delivered an RBI single up the middle to score Fabiano, making it 6–1.
The Pioneers threatened with the bases loaded and one out, but Delaney Haller escaped the jam, forcing two flyouts to end the inning.
Point Park loaded the bases again in the fourth but was unable to capitalize, as D. Haller once again worked out of trouble to maintain the lead.
Fairmont State put the game away in the fifth. McGill led off with a double, followed by a Matteson single. Keilholz delivered another big hit with a two-run double, and Hess capped the inning with a two-run double of her own, pushing the lead to 9–1.
Delaney Haller earned the win, pitching four innings and allowing one run on six hits. Liz Alsop closed out the game with a scoreless fifth inning. Emma Henry took the loss, going the distance and allowing nine runs on nine hits while striking out three.
Gia LaBrie and Fabiano led Point Park offensively, each going 2-for-2, with Fabiano also scoring the team's lone run.
GAME 2: Fairmont State 4, Point Park 1
W:Â Morey (4-1) L:Â Johnson (4-7)
Fairmont State struck early again in game two.
Bella Hess led off with a single, followed by a Townsend single. Emma Paul reached on a fielder's choice, advancing Hess to third, and later stole second. Bre Marietta then singled up the middle to score both Hess and Paul, giving the Falcons a 2–0 lead after one inning.
The Falcons added another run in the second. Hess singled again and moved to second on a bunt single by Townsend. Paul followed with an RBI single to make it 3–0.
Hess continued her strong performance in the fourth, leading off with another single and stealing both second and third. Paul brought her home with a double to left, extending the lead to 4–0.
Point Park attempted a comeback in the fourth. Labrie singled and advanced on a play in right field. P Haller followed with an RBI single to score Labrie, cutting the deficit to 4–1.
Both starting pitchers went the distance, but Caitlin Morey got the better of Julia Johnson. Morey earned the win, allowing one run on five hits while striking out four. Johnson took the loss, allowing four runs on 14 hits with three strikeouts.
Arndt was the best hitter for Point Park in game two going two for three and recorded her nineteenth stolen base and is perfect in that category.Â

Point Park hosts MEC South Division opponents over Easter weekend. West Virginia Wesleyan visits on Friday, followed by Davis & Elkins on Saturday. First pitch both days is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
