ATHENS, W. Va– Point Park wrapped up its 2026 road schedule Monday afternoon as Concord used a dominant offensive showing in game one and timely hitting in game two to complete the doubleheader sweep at the Concord University Softball Field.
GAME ONE: CONCORD 13 – 0 POINT PARK (5 INNINGS)
W: Hollis (14-8), L: Johnson (8-15)
Concord wasted no time asserting control, erupting for seven runs in the opening inning behind a barrage of extra-base hits and home runs.
Kendall Morgan set the tone with an infield single before Lacie Lewis launched a two-run homer to left, giving the Mountain Lions an early 2-0 lead. The power surge continued as Madison Hollis followed with a solo shot to center, and Concord never looked back. Later in the inning, Kayla Sholter and Hannah Niten each doubled in runs before Alina Giles capped the frame with a three-run home run—Concord's third of the inning—to make it 7-0 after one.
The Mountain Lions kept the pressure on in the second. Lewis singled and Hollis doubled to put two in scoring position, and Kristy McCord delivered with a two-run single up the middle to extend the lead to 9-0.
Concord added four more runs in the third to put the game out of reach. Morgan drove in two with a double, and Lewis struck again with her second home run of the game—a three-run blast that pushed the lead to 13-0.
Point Park managed three hits in the contest, coming from Mia Arndt, Cam Mann, and Jana Hess.
Hollis earned the win with a complete-game effort, allowing just three hits over five innings while striking out two. Julia Johnson took the loss after allowing seven runs in the opening inning.
GAME TWO: CONCORD 6 – 2 POINT PARK
W: Hintz (8-13), L: Henry (1-15)
Game two began as a much tighter contest, with both teams settling in early as the first nine batters were retired in order.
Concord broke through in the second inning. McCord doubled to lead off the frame and advanced to third before scoring on a groundout, giving the Mountain Lions a 1-0 lead.
Point Park threatened in the third, loading the bases on a walk from Kaylee Fabiano, a single from Arndt, and another walk drawn by Ava Hubble. However, Concord starter Reghan Hintz escaped the jam with a key flyout to keep the lead intact.
The Pioneers broke through in the fourth. Gianna Welsh doubled to lead off the inning and was replaced by Gia LaBrie. Jana Hess followed with an RBI double down the left field line, tying the game at one.
Concord regained the lead in the fifth. After a single and a walk put runners on base, Morgan delivered a clutch two-run triple to center, giving the Mountain Lions a 3-1 advantage.
Point Park answered in the sixth. Shania Cope worked a leadoff walk and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt. Emma Henry singled to put runners on the corners, and Payton Haller drove in Cope with a groundout to cut the deficit to 3-2.
But Concord had the final response. In the bottom half of the inning, Lewis continued her standout day with her third home run of the doubleheader. Moments later, Hollis followed with another long ball as the pair went back-to-back for the second time on the day, extending the lead to 5-2. An additional unearned run later in the inning pushed the margin to 6-2.
Six different Pioneers recorded hits in game two, while Hess and Haller accounted for the RBIs.
Hintz earned the complete-game victory, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out three. Emma Henry took the loss after five solid innings of work before Concord's late surge.
