Point Park Student-Athletes Celebrate Success in the Classroom

PITTSBURGH -- Point Park Athletics is thrilled to announce a department grade-point average of 3.35 for the Spring 2026 semester. 

 

"I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes who showed outstanding dedication to their academic work while also juggling their practice and competition schedules week in and week out during the spring semester," said VP of Athletics Scott Swain. "We additionally have a tremendous group of coaches and resources on campus that are in place to help our students succeed. It is very gratifying to see the results in the classroom from our Pioneer student-athletes." 

 

Point Park's classroom success includes 16 of 17 sports achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Additionally, five programs recorded a team GPA of 3.50 or higher. 

 

"I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes' performance in the classroom this spring," said Point Park FAR Hagen Starz. "Point Park continues to be committed to providing our student-athletes with the resources and opportunities to help them not only excel in their respective sports, but also to focus and maintain excellence in their academic studies." 

 

Softball, women's lacrosse and men's soccer all tied for the highest GPA with each sport achieving a 3.66 grade-point average. Men's cross country (3.59) and softball (3.53) also posted GPAs higher than 3.50.
