PITTSBURGH -- Point Park women's soccer won its third-consecutive match on Saturday when it took down Davis & Elkins 1-0 at F.N.B. Stadium. Reece Frank scored the winner for the Pioneers in the 48th minute.

Frank, a junior transfer from Mercyhurst University. headed Julia Rusiecki's free kick 10 yards toward the far right corner of the net to give Point Park the lead. Rusiecki picked up Point Park's first assist of the season with her free kick. 

Rusiecki and Frank rank third and fourth on the team in minutes played, and are two of four Pioneers to start all five of the team's matches. 

Frank tied with teammate Rebecca Pihlgren for the game highs in shots and shots on goal with three and two, respectively.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Point Park (3-2-0, 3-0-0 MEC) narrowly edged the Senators in shots, winning the battle 11-10. The Pioneers posted four shots on goal to D&E's three. 

In addition to Frank and Pihlgren, Becca Simpkins, Paula Sole, Maria Gomez, Rusiecki and Mia Gonzalez all levied shots on Saturday. 

Goalkeeper Nicole Kuchinski stopped all three shots on goal that came her way, expanding her shutout streak to three-consecutive games. Kuchinski's lone goal against came in her season debut at No. 22 Ashland.

UP NEXT

Point Park hits the road on Wednesday for an MEC matchup against Fairmont State at 7 pm.. Point Park will return home on Sunday to host Frostburg State on Sunday at Duquesne University's Rooney Field at 1 p.m.
