FAIRMONT, W.Va. – In a battle of two of the top teams in the Mountain East Conference North Division, Point Park dropped a 1-0 final to No. 23-ranked Fairmont State on Wednesday evening at Duvall-Rosier Field.
The nationally-ranked Falcons scored in the 65
th minute when Emelly Chicas found Payton Parliament for her second goal of the season.
The goal was one of 22 shots Fairmont State fired on Wednesday, eight of which were on-target. Point Park finished the afternoon with five total shots, including three on goal.

Julia Rusiecki and
Rebecca Pihlgren each recorded shots on goal for the Pioneers. Pihlgren fired a shot in the 24
th minute, Rusiecki recorded a shot in the 39
th minute, and Gomez gave PPU its final scoring opportunity in the 75
th minute.
Nicole Kuchinski allowed one goal while recording six saves in Point Park's net. Olivia Johnston maintained a clean sheet for Fairmont, recording three saves.
FSU also held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks in the win.
Point Park returns to Pittsburgh to host Frostburg State on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Rooney Field on the campus of Duquesne University.
