GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Point Park men's and women's golf competed in the West Chester University Battlefield Classic on Monday, with the men's team finishing in ninth place. The meet, which was held at The Links at Gettysburg, was supposed to conclude on Tuesday but was canceled due to weather.

Josh Topper led PPU's men's team, finishing in eighth place and shooting just two over par. Topper recorded three birdies, including two on the back nine of the course.Â

Dharit Iemkanitchat, the Moe's Southwest Grill Men's Pioneer Athlete of the Month, turned in an 11th-place finish with his +4 day. Iemkanitchat finished with two birdies on the day.

Cameron Huff and Jack Dickinson both finished in the top 50, placing 44th and 46th, respectively. Huff, who competed in his first meet of the season on Point Park's team, shot +12 in the round, and Dickinson shot +13.

Alex Zinz rounded out the group of five, finishing 55th and shooting 17 over par. Joe Duttine, who competed as an individual, tied for 46th place and shot +13.

Both of Point Park's women competed as individuals on Monday, with Gabi Wait finishing 26th at +21. Sophia Barkoot finished in 38th place and shot +71.

UP NEXT
Point Park's women's team returns to action on Monday for Fairmont State's Senator Larry Edgell Invitational. The meet, which runs from Monday to Tuesday, will take place at the Green Hills Country Club in Fairmont, W.Va.Â

The men's team is idle next week and will return to action from Oct. 4 through the 6 in the MEC Golf Championships at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course in Roanoke, W.Va.Â
