BELLE VERNON, Pa. – Dharit Iemkanitchat finished in eighth place to lead the Point Park men's golf team at the 2026 Vulcan Invitational hosted by Cal (PA), while
Gabi Wait recorded her collegiate-round low score of 85 on Friday in the event's second round at Cedarbrook Golf Club.
After shooting two-under (70) on Thursday, Iemkanitchat finished the tournament with a +1 on Friday. He finished this afternoon's round with two birdies on the par-five fourth hole, and the par-five 10
th hole. He bogeyed on the second, seventh and 13
th. He totaled six birdies on the over the two days of play.
In the highly competitive field this week,
Joshua Topper finished in a tie for 41
st (+8), while
Elie Ben Natan (+12) just missed the top 50 in 51
st place.
Tegan Rucks (+18, t-69
th) and
Jack Dickinson (+20, t-75
th) rounded out the PPU scorers at the event.
The Point Park men finished in ninth place at the event. Cal (PA) took first place at -9, followed by West Liberty in second (+3) and Fairmont State (+5) in third. Cal's Gavin Goodrich took medalist honors at seven-under par for the 36-hole event.
Gabriela Wait led the Point Park women at the event, shooting a career-low round of 85 on Friday. She turned in a team-high finish in 57
th place after the two days.
Sophia Barkoot was also on the course for PPU (+88, 84
th).
The Pioneers men's and women's golf teams return to action next Tuesday-Thursday at the UC Invitational, played at Berry Hills Country Club (men) and Edgewood Country Club (women). Tee times will be announced next week.
