PITTSBURGH -- Point Park University left fielder Jordan Crowell has been named the KIAC Baseball Player of the Week March 31-April 6, 2014, after hitting .705 (12 for 17) with nine RBIs in six games last week, the conference announced on Monday (April 7).

Crowell, a junior from Milford, Ohio, led Point Park (26-11, 10-4 KIAC) to a 6-0 record last week, including a 4-0 sweep versus Alice Lloyd (Ky.). Crowell's week included two doubles, a homer run and seven runs scored.

Crowell hit safely in all six games last week. He had four multi-hit games, including a pair of 3-for-3 performances in a doubleheader at NCAA Division II West Virginia State. His hot hitting has raised his season average to .400 (46 for 115) to go along with one home run and 24 RBIs.

The 2013 KIAC Player of the Year has been on a major hot tear the last two weeks. He currently has an 11-game hit streak, and in the 10 games since he made the move from third base to left field, he is 19 for 30 with 11 RBIs and a .633 batting average. Point Park has won all 10 of those games and will take its 10-game win streak to its non-conference game at NCAA Division II Seton Hill on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
