WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Point Park baseball returns to EQT Park to host a four-game series against Fairmont State. The Pioneers and Falcons will play doubleheaders on Saturday and Monday with first pitch coming at 1 p.m. on both days.
The Pioneers (16-9, 8-4 MEC) bested Indiana (PA) 20-16 in a slugfest on Tuesday. Point Park tallied 22 hits and 19 RBIs over its 20 runs with seven players boasting multi-hit days. Chris Williams led the team with four hits, Olindo Pezzone and Franklin Gomez Jr. each added three and Carlos de la Vega, Sebastian Hernandez, Luis Gonzalez and Felix Gonzalez all tallied two hits apiece.
Point Park hit five home runs with Olindo Pezzone and Felix Gonzalez both leaving the yard twice and Blake Ewing launching a three-run shot in the top of the first inning. Pezzone tallied all four of his RBIs on his two home runs. He and Ewing tied for the team lead in RBIs, with Sebastian Hernandez and Luis Gonzalez both posting three.
Point Park is 2-2 against Fairmont State (13-12, 7-5 MEC), with the two teams splitting a four-game weekend series last season. The Falcons enter off a 13-5 loss to Slippery Rock on Tuesday, and they have a 4-4 record on the road this season.

Ramon Rodriguez is second on the team with 24.2 innings pitched. Rodriguez leads the team with 33 strikeouts and leads qualified Pioneers in ERA (2.20) and WHIP (0.92). Rodriguez tossed eight shutout innings on Saturday against Charleston and only allowed two hits. Rodriguez ranks second in the MEC in ERA and fifth in strikeouts.

Harold "Shaggy" Boyce threw Point Park's first no-hitter since 2018 on Mar. 13. Boyce became the first Pioneer to be named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 19. He has a WHIP of 1.34 over his 27.2 innings pitched. Boyce pitched 2.0 innings in relief on Sunday and struck out four while picking up his third win of the year.

Ethan Parker's ERA of 3.13 and WHIP of 1.20 are second-best on the team among qualified pitchers. Parker is 1-0 with four saves on the year and has pitched 31.2 innings - second only to Ramon Rodriguez.
