LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Point Park University men's cross country had five runners register times under 29 minutes on Saturday in a competitive field of schools at the Lock Haven University Invitational. The Pioneers placed 11th of 15 teams coming in behind four NCAA Division II schools and club teams from Pitt and Penn State.
Point Park sophomore Sean Hilverding, a Waynesburg Central High School grad, registered the best 8K time in the River States Conference this year. He placed 28th of 202 runners with a personal-best time of 26 minutes, 39 seconds, which is 28 seconds faster than any individual in the conference this season.
Also coming in under 29 minutes in the 5-mile race for the Pioneers were freshman Xavier Stephens (28:10), sophomore Desmond Marrow (28:40), sophomore Bradley Calleja (28:42) and freshman Jeremiah Goodwin (28:55). Freshmen Dannys Marrero (29:06) and Nathaniel Hersh (29:41) rounded out the top seven Point Park runners.
