FLORENCE, Ind. -- The River States Conference Men's Golf Fall Preview got underway Monday with 18 holes at Belterra Golf Club in Florence, Ind.. Point Park University has three individuals competing in the event that is the preview of the RSC Championship at the same course in the spring.

The Pioneers have two sophomores and a freshman in the event. Sophomore Anthony Santilli and freshman Britton Bringhurst both shot scores of 7-over 78 in the first round Monday. That is good for a tie for 15th place out of 62 total golfers. Overall, there were 22 players in the 70s among the 12 RSC teams represented in the tournament.

Tyler Hillard, a sophomore, shot 83 and is in a tie for 34th for the Pioneers. Final-round play on Tuesday will feature 18 holes. The Pioneers tee off at 9:15 a.m. from No. 10.

Bringhust led the Pioneers with three birdies in the opening round. He was even par thru five holes. He shot 40 on his first nine -- which was the back nine -- and then came in in 38. Santilli shot 39 on each side and had 13 pars in his round. Hillard had a birdie on No. 18 -- his ninth of the day -- to highlight a scorecard that show 41-42 for his front and back 9.
